Visual Music event

I attended a Visual Music event the other night in San Francisco. The work of two artists were shown, Vanessa O'Neill and Michael Mantra.

Ms. O'Neill's work was based on highly processed film of nature scenes, multiple layers of physical processing transforming the scenes into increasingly abstract images. Rapid cuts and layered audio further moved the experience into abstraction.

Mr. Mantra's work was video graphics, a series of animations exploring scale transformations and the juxtaposition of size and color. His produces his work using Photoshop and Final Cut Pro.

I really appreciate that there is a community actively exploring visual music in the Bay Area.
